Kuntz Ranch / Elliot Property
Property Information
The Kuntz Ranch is only 20 minutes from Steamboat and is located between Stagecoach Reservoir and Lake Catamount on the Yampa River in what is known as Pleasant Valley.
This section offers ¾ mile of good dry fly, nymph and streamer fishing. Rainbows and Brown Trout are most prominent with the occasional Brook Trout being caught. This section is easy to fish with short to moderate casts.
The Elliott property is upstream, approximately the same length, and offers a little more gradient and faster water with great pocket water fishing.

Andy’s the resident expert in floating techniques as he boasts a decade’s worth of experience running western rivers and more. Originally hailing from the renowned steelhead haven of Ohio, Andy traces his connection to fly fishing back to the tender age of 6. His extensive expertise encompasses an intricate understanding of insects, aquatic life, and wildlife. With a degree in Fish and Wildlife Management from Montana State University, Andy honed his river science acumen with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. And with a remarkable 18 years of mastery in fly tying, he’s readily available to impart his skills!
